I had them all! I shot the moon from the window at one point because two green alien moons appeared and I wondered how it would appear in a shot. lol The object next to the clear shot of the moon is the lamp light you see in the one picture as the moon rose in the sky and now the light was on.
Hope you howled at the moon! It’s Monday, and baby is coming, and I forgot to put out the garbage. Off to do it! Oh, it’s a holiday, maybe no garbage pickup. Hmmm
Have a super wonderful day while I figure out if we put out the garbage or not!
Blood Moon, Luna Eclipse, Wolf Moon–that’s tonight and I’ve got to try and capture it if I can. I took these last night before the sun set. In the one picture, I was shooting through the tree branches, trying to capture the airliner as it was flying by the moon before it was gone! Then when it was gone, I moved over to get a clearer shot of the moon.
So I began work in earnest on the Wolff brother story, still need to come up with a title. I finally figured out her occupation, which means lots of research. I spent most of yesterday searching for information. It’s a new idea! Fresh idea! For me! And that’s what’s so important to me, to make every story new and different in some way. I think I might have about 80 books out now and so coming up with something nice and original can be a challenge. I had to do some research into her former occupation, and the way that the guy “died” that she is investigating–so lots and lots of new things to learn. I have 10 sites open, and my computer is running like a snail on sleeping pills. Even though I’m up way before dawn, it’s taken me this long just to be able to open my blog page.
A million scenarios are going through my mind, now that I kinda know where I’m headed, but that means more research and more research, and man, is the world of crime fascinating. lol But also, researching about rescues, and all kinds of interesting stuff. Even the layout of a ski lodge to use for describing the one in my story. One thing about writing stories for me, I get to learn all kinds of things all the time. All new to me.
I just hope no one ever searches my browsing history. It appears that I’m getting ready to commit a crime! Tons of different kinds of crimes! If one doesn’t work, I’ll try another. Did I ever mention the hullabaloo that a couple caused in the writing community one time? They claimed they were writing stories and doing all this research for committing the crimes in their stories. And were arrested! Computers confiscated! Browser history used as evidence! Many writers who learned of it became paranoid, were outraged! BUT, then it came out that the couple were really engaged in criminal activities!
I may not be able to experience everything in real life that I write about, though I have skied and enjoyed visits to ski lodges (one of my favorite with the hot tubs outside and the snow surrounding them, the cliched St. Bernard sleeping by the fire inside, etc, etc.), and I’ve been to Colorado skiing (Telluride and Breckenridge) and visiting a number of times, to Vermont (Killington) skiing, Pennsylvania skiing, to New Mexico skiing, and not skiing, but visiting the ski lodge at Mt. Hood, Oregon, and swimming in a pool that was indoor/ outdoor, with the snow on the deck around the pool outside after a day of skiing in Colorado. Even skiing to our room. It’s fun to share the scenarios in books and hope that readers enjoy a new fun world too.
I haven’t been keeping up with my word count, 2,000 words a day, but playing catch up daily. I’m at nearly 4,000 words. Should be 6,000 by today. Hopefully, today I can catch up and stay caught up, now that I’ve done a bit of my research. But I also opened up my document to begin formatting the print version of Claiming the White Bear.
Hope you get a fun glimpse of the blood red wolf moon today!!!
To me, this is a blue moon. But that means the second full moon in the month. Still, this is a blue moon to me. Did you know there is also a black moon? I didn’t! We have one about every 19 years and the last one was this year! It’s when we have no new moon! And that happened in February, then in January and March, we had two new moons! This doesn’t happen in all parts of the world. So don’t worry if you missed it, like I did. Since you didn’t miss anything.
For me, writing wolf romances, moonology (writer’s license to create words out of the blue)…is important to my stories, and here, I have a new interesting note to use for a future story. If the wolf has a lot of human roots, then he or she can’t change during the new moon, so they have a reprieve. But if there is no new moon? Or there are two new moons? Changes the story.
Okay, off to work on the new story. I’ve had one major thing after another to do and haven’t been able to work on it–but yesterday, I took a whole day off to play Divinity Original Sin 2, a game I got for Christmas and haven’t been able to play at all because of deadlines. I didn’t realize my thief character in the party, as an elf, can eat corpses to learn about the person’s past, ewwwwww. My son and DIL were playing the game too, and her character is an elf also, and she was doing that. He kept telling her not to do that. lol 🙂 <3 Anyway, he told me that last night and I realized I have an elf character too. Will I do it? Once, probably, just to see what happens. lol My ranger (hunts with a bow), is human, no eating corpses. Whew. In my Shadow Elf teen book, elves do not eat corpses either. Ewwww.
Title: A Silver Wolf Christmas Series: Heart of the Wolf #17 Author: Terry Spear Publication Date: October 6/15 by Sourcebooks Casablanca Length: 384pgs Genre: paranormal romance Shelf: review Rating: ★★★★
Welcome to Christmas wolf shifter style! Spear creates an exciting and fun story that kept me on my toes while taking me deep into the world of her unforgettable characters. The underlying current of mystery had me trying to puzzle it out while also enjoying my foray into this wolfy world. She uses descriptions to advantage, developing characters you can picture & feel as if you know, and settings that come to life, but leaving room for your imagination to run wild in this fantastic world. Spear develops her concept of wolf shifters well. She really lets readers know what it means to be one, how the pack works, and other cultural details. – See more at: http://purejonel.blogspot.ca/2015/09/aSWC.html
“Giving new meaning to the term alpha male where fantasy is reality.”
Woohoo, I added 2,000 words to Phantom Fae yesterday. Still way far behind. BUT, I don’t let that get me down. I figure I’ll catch up as I get into the story. Or finish later than I had planned.
The other night we had the most beautiful sunset when I took Max out. Unfortunately, by the time I went back in for my camera, it had faded and wasn’t as glorious, so I didn’t take a shot. Then, the next night, it was gloriously foggy. The neighbor’s night lights were shrouded in fog and I could imagine myself in London in the old days with the fog shrouding everything in a ghostly mist. I tried to take a shot of it, but it wouldn’t come out. Overhead, we also had a beautiful full moon. I did get a shot of it. Believe me, doing it while holding a puppy on a leash can be a trial.
I know not to try to take a picture when my daughter’s corgi is on leash, he has such a strong pull. Max is so lightweight, I thought it would work. I finally got him to sit long enough to take the shot.
Last night, again, he was spooked by my shadow. I have to admit that it is very long and scary to a puppy. So I’m going to try and remember to take my camera with me tonight and capture The Shadow. 🙂 <3
He has such a bouncy step and his hair flows as he runs. My poodles had that bouncy step too. I had forgotten. My daughter’s corgi has more of a scamper or scurry. His legs are so short and his body so heavy, he can’t do anything bouncy. But he’s so smart. I love how he can do high 5s. I want to teach Max that a little later. He needs to learn how to lie down first. 🙂
And here he is playing with his ball.
Okay, I actually wrote some of Phantom Fae by hand, so off to type.
Have a lovely Monday!! Have to ship contest book wins today. 🙂
I “finished” writing A Silver Wolf Christmas, which means I’m still working on revisions, but it’s done! And so I worked on bears, still have about 20 to go but here is a picture of the 9 headless bears! They’re stuffed, and some of the arms and legs are closed. I’ll finish closing the seams on the legs and arms tonight, and sew up the heads. 🙂
To go along with headless bears and the look of Halloween, the paranormal, etc., here is a picture of the full moon this morning!
And if that wasn’t enough, my chewed up pistachio, but it’s kind of hard to show that the grasshoppers are devouring it.
And a really cool picture of a spiderweb, perfect for that Halloween look.
And I started re-reading Call of the Cougar, so hopefully I can finish writing that in the next couple of weeks and edit it too.
Off to ship bears!
Have a super great, wait, got to get the garbage out Wednesday!
