Flowers, Birds and Bears

I’ve been trying to capture a good shot of one of the blue jays and finally caught one with his favorite choice of food–a peanut.

King Arthur bear is going to an auction for literacy! He’s one of a kind, and has an antique tunic and brooch and crown.

The Bounty Hunter Gets Her Wolf’s synopsis is done and sent off. They’re about 3,000 words, so it was late afternoon by the time I finished it. The manuscript also went to the publisher. I used to write in King Arthur’s time when I had to send missives on vellum and used pots of ink and feathered quills. Then I’d have to find someone to deliver it to the royal family.

Now? Push of a button and it zings off into cyberspace. I might love writing about historical worlds, but I love our modern technology too.

I’m going over the final chapters of Flight of the White Wolf and hope to have it done today also. Then Cougar edits and back to writing Falcon Fae.

You know, if I don’t write all this down, I might forget it. 🙂

I Am in Charge…

Right.

I’m trying to do my taxes, make bears, and write a book. Which means, the taxes are a necessary evil, and if I were in charge, I wouldn’t be doing them.

Making bears, yes, they’re fun. Writing the book, it’s on deadline, so again, I’m not in charge. The deadline is. Not to mention my characters are presenting scenes to me while I’m trying to do other things…like sleep…and so guess who else is in charge???

Minky Bear is a faux mink bear. The one with the suede paws is a little easier to see, and Ivory is a champagne mohair bear.

Then the puppies. Aww, my adorable puppies. I’m supposed to be the alpha, but until I feed them this morning, they will keep hounding me, which means I finally gave in, so, you can see who is in charge.

I am over halfway done on Flight of the White Wolf, yay! And I sewed up a lilac bear for a Mother’s Day bear, which is just the beginning, and finished a golden mohair last night. But it is pouring this morning and still too dark to take a decent outdoor picture.

Off to the book! It’s pouring, the temperature dropped from when I first got up at 5 am, but the thunder seems to have moved off. Uhm, as the sky lightens up with lightning and it immediately thunders after that, my mistake.

Have a wonderful day. I love rain. So it’s a great vampire day. Even if I’m writing about Arctic wolves.

Another Confetti Bear. Better picture. The sun was setting when I took the one before this. It was getting dark when I took this one, but bear shows up as more of it’s natural white color and all its lovely confetti colors.

Still had a guest blog to do, but when I got another bear order, and another chance to watch a movie???? After working on 6 guest blogs yesterday?

Bears are Taking Over

It’s freezing out! Literally! 23 degrees with a chill factor of 10. So I’m inside, just finished up three bear orders, one for an author, Cora Blu, and two for newborn personalized baby gifts–all made in Texas.Years ago, I was at a craft show selling my bears and a lady asked if I bought them somewhere. I said no, that I made them from scratch.

“Well,” she said, “where did you buy the heads?”

“Well, you see there’s this arms dealer–who sometimes sells bodies, legs, and if I’m really lucky, heads,” I wanted to say. But of course, I said, again, “I make them from scratch. I buy the material, and make them from… scratch.” What else could I say? She didn’t look convinced. I do have a lot of headless bears in a plastic container right now. Some without legs, just the bodies and arms connected, some just without heads. But that’s because it’s the hardest to get right, so I often leave them to last to sew up. 🙂  That’s the bear pictured in the middle. Lots of little light brown headless, and some legless, bears right now. 🙂

 

 

My bears are all done for Christmas!

Now with the heater cranked up, it’s time to get back to A Hero of a Highland Wolf and reread it again.

And of course, now I have TWO audiobooks to approve! Things keep stacking up.

I finished rereading A Highland Wolf Christmas, so once Dottie sends me the edits and I can go back over it another time, I can turn it in.

 

And then? It’s back to Jaguar Pride! I have 1000 words written on it. 🙂

So not going anywhere until the deep freeze goes away. Good thing I don’t live in a really cold place or I’d have to suck it up and get used to it. LOL Waving at Donna! Have a lovely Saturday! Just doing blogs and then it’s off to read A Hero of a Highland Wolf one last time.
