Blue Octopus Saga Continues

Not again! I was on the chatline on Amazon again, trying to get rid of the charges for the the teapot that keeps revisiting me in my nightmares. I did not want it, Sam I Am. Not in a house or with a mouse. Not on a boat or with a goat. I do not want it, Sam I Am!

So quit charging me for something you tell me that has been returned, 3 times!

Okay, now that I have that off my chest, I feel better. Until the next time. To be continued…

Hopefully not!

You know, if I wrote this in a book, everyone would think it was pure fiction.

I took this picture in Minnesota of a chickadee on a little red barn feeder.

So I was nearly finished with reading SEAL Wolf Surrender last night, but I have to keep taking breaks so I don’t start skimming over the words. That’s how I normally read books, so it’s hard to break that habit when I need to edit. I did walk 4.6 miles while I’ve been doing this though.

We have another scorcher today! Have a great one, and may you never be visited by a blue octopus you don’t want. Ever.

Wizard Bear and Halloween Bear!

They are off to their forever home! I’ve got to reread SEAL Wolf Undercover one more time and then turn it in! I was up until midnight working on the bears, finishing SEAL Wolf changes, and felt great! I couldn’t go to sleep so I started working on the long synopsis for Silver Town Wolf Christmas and that did it! Out like a light. lol

Just got a paragraph. lol

Thanksgiving Bears

I was asked if I had a Thanksgiving bear because several of my teddy bear enthusiasts decorate for all the holidays with my teddy bears. So these are two that I made for the Thanksgiving holidays. My teddy bear orders are stacking up (Halloween bear, new baby bear, wizard bear, Steampunk bear, panda bear with tartan sash and bonnet, butterscotch bear with tartan sash and bonnet, and a larger size bear), but I finished Silver Town, and now I’m working on first edits on SEAL Wolf Surrender and I have several promo blogs to do for A Billionaire Wolf for Christmas. It’s releasing October. I’m halfway through on edits for SEAL Wolf Surrender, so hope I can finish that today and turn it in tomorrow then do the promo blogs, and begin working on bears. And then I’m shuffling between Claiming the White Bear and Stryker’s Cougar story.

Oh, and Flo Featherspoon Steampunk Bear is off to her forever home.

With reading and doing edits, I walked 5 miles yesterday!

Okay, I’m off to edit and exercise! We had a 107 degree heat index yesterday. I’ll be so glad when it starts to cool down! But we can have another month of heat…so I need to think of snow and fall and winter and ice and cold… We’ve been having thunderstorms, some off in the distance, thunder rumbling, huge thunderheads, and no rain.

Mushroom in Darkness and Light

When I went out with the dogs early, I saw this fantastic mushroom. I’d seen only its “pole,” the day before, but then the next morning it was a wonderful creation. I used a lantern on one side of it and and a flashlight to the left. If I’d had more time, I would have played with the lighting more but the baby was on her way.

And the other is another capture of the fritillary butterfly.

I was thinking about the story as I was revising it last night after baby left and thought it wasn’t as anti-climatic as it needed to be at the end. I sometimes do that, write the scene, revise it a few times, and then realize what needs to be changed. So it made it much better. And I need to add another scene. So it’s done, except for writing one more scene and making the changes I made last night on the typed out pages!

I spent this morning also setting up another external hard drive so that I could save all my stories on another drive in case my other hard drive crashes. I need to save them in another place too…just to be safe. I have lost earlier stories I’ve written due to computer crashes. And I FINALLY got smart and found a paper stand so I could set up my pages to type from. AND I got a mini reading light to clamp on it so I can read what I’ve typed and the changes I made. It’s so dark in the room, no matter if all the windows are open, the lights on, I strained to read the changes. So I’m finally, after 2 and 1/2 years, getting myself better organized. Since I’m at this ALL the time, it was time!

Yesterday, I took baby out to see the zinnias in all their lovely colors and I usually tell her what each color is. But what I found that was so wonderful was a little hummingbird sitting on an oak’s twig right above the zinnias. Okay, that convinced me. Next year, I’m going to plant a ton of zinnia in the backyard too! I just wished I had my camera to capture it since he was just sitting there, and soooo close to us.

I’m off to work on the story!

Dream a Little Dream

Do you dream nice dreams? Mine seem to be nightmares. I dreamed my roof was a foot away from one of the sides of my house. Maybe because I was gluing things together that needed repaired the day before?

Anyway, baby’s coming and I’ve got to get going. Above: a picture of ducks at the Riverwalk, baby pointing to people way down below on the sidewalk and a crowned night heron, and a dream that a cougar was having that went awry.

I’m on the last 8 chapters today, but might not be able to get through all of them tonight after baby leaves.

Off to work! Hope your dreams are the stuff of…dreams, not nightmares!

Done! Done! Done!

Axel chilling, and on the move. Arctic wolf who is acting all alpha. I’m in a purple mood. That’s good! Love purple. The Arctic wolf pictures are mine, and in the one with Axel lying down, his brother photo bombed it, so I changed out the background and added a purple blur, purple texture, and purple solar flare.

Okay, so I finished writing all the scenes yesterday after baby left, yay! Put together the table for the printer, and it wouldn’t fit inside like I’d hoped, but I still managed to consolidate some stuff and it looks so nice! It was easy to put together too, which was really great, considering having to do so much else yesterday.

So I’m now reading the story through before I send it to beta readers (while edits on SEAL wolf are nagging at me to get to them). I’m on ch 4, with 28 chapters and an epilogue to get through–104,000 words! This is my last time to fix mistakes and tidy things up a bit, and see if there are any loose ends left before I send it to beta readers. And this is the really fun time. The book is done!!! Written, from beginning to end. Woohoo! And I get to read it for enjoyment, and smoothing out.

Okay, off to read some more and EXERCISE. 🙂 When I read, I put my keyboard and mouse up on metal stands I got at Hobby Lobby, usually use them for teddy bear displays, and then I can walk or jog in place. It doesn’t work when I’m writing scenes, but I walked 5 miles last week each of two days, when I was proofing another manuscript!

What it looks like in reality, but when I’m in the writing world, what it really looks like. A whole world of unlimited, fantastical possibilities!

Mushrooms are a Must

In a fairy garden…

I’m at 103,000 words! See, I told you 80K was just the minimum. Baby should be here any second, and I’m almost done with the story. All the scenes are written, but last night I was thinking about it and remembered, oh, wait, what did they have in their Christmas stockings? What about his brother getting notified they’re marrying? Who scratched the villain’s face? There was supposed to be a celebration, what happened to it???

LOL….so I wrote up some more notes, and all of these things are short answer, so I can add them quickly. But they’re just some loose ends that need to be cleared up.

And then I need to re-read the whole book over again.

Butterflies and Birds

Hummingbird, moulting male cardinal (he has a lot of black on his had and white feathers down below), giant yellow swallowtail, fritillary butterfly! The yellow swallowtail is extremely fast moving. I had to have a fast ISO setting to capture him.  Even when he’s feeding, his wings are flapping like crazy. The fritillary is much more sedentary. The hummingbird is also moving like crazy, besides flapping his little wings so fast. I could have had it at a faster ISO for him.

Okay, I’m now at 97K and counting, 17K over the mandatory word count, and there’s an end in sight. But I’ll probably have around 100K by the time I finish, which is great! I don’t think I’ll get it done by the time baby shows up tomorrow though, but I’m trying.

See, persistence pays off. I kept trying to get a better shot of the hummingbird, and I kept pushing through on the story, and voila!

Hope you have a butterfly and hummingbird filled day! It just adds a little magic to our world.

Beautiful Little Hummingbird…

Don’t you know I’m taking your picture? Why don’t you turn around for me? He is a ruby-throated hummingbird, one photo the original, and the other in glow.

I’m still working on Silver Town Wolf Christmas, which is why I’m late blogging this morning. I was up super late editing, and up super early and doing my edits and writing another scene. I’m beginning to fill in all the blanks, answer unanswered questions–for the characters–I knew all along what the story was all about (ha!),  and making corrections throughout. I was hoping I’d have this done by Wednesday before grandbaby is here again, but we shall see. I wrote 3,000 words yesterday. I’m at 92K and counting!

Halloween Early? Christmas Early?

I’m working on another one of these little guys for an order. And I have 3 other orders to finish up. But for now, I’m trying to finish up Silver Town Wolf Christmas. I have 89K and counting.  When I get near the end, it’s hard to stop writing. The scenes are finally coming. I wrote 7,000 words yesterday. I love it when it happens like that.

So I’m off to keep writing and hopefully wrap this up soon.
