Romance Paranormal

THE FLIGHT OF THE WHITE WOLF by Terry Spear takes Amelia White and Gavin Summerfield on a dangerous and steamy trip through the Border Waters of Minnesota. Coincidence or fate that they’ve come together again and that people from their past are in the areas as well? Is Gavin’s current mission part of all the danger or is he supposed to be protecting Amelia and her family from danger? It all is woven with intrigue and love by Terry Spear in the second book of her White Wolf Series and the twenty-fourth book in her Wolf Shifters Series, which has many sub-series, all loosely connected.

Terry Spears takes you on a dangerous ride that leaves you wondering who’s the bad guys are and why they are after the people in the Border Waters in Minnesota. I was surprised by the outcome and impressed with the ending that brings everything together and wraps up nicely. I look forward to the next installments in the White Wolf and Heart of the Wolf Series. It’s a series that can continue for many books to come!

And I still have edits on You Had Me at Jaguar. Without baby here, I’m off to work on Jaguar!!!

I’m getting ready to send A SEAL Wolf for Sale to the last beta reader and then back to working on Her Highland Hero!

I thought I had a great idea for the anthology novella I was supposed to be working on also, but then I realized the heroine in that would die by book 7, so, hmmm, back to the drawing board. LOL

I’m also at Fresh Fiction today with another giveaway!! http://freshfiction.com/page.php?id=5970

The Facebook party was a success in terms of gaining new followers, gave away 14 ebooks, instead of 3, and had fun. One blogger/reviewer site asked me to participate in a FB party at their site on June 29, and two other blogger/reviewer sites asked to participate in the next blog tour blitz. And I received another interview request.

So it was all good, but the main thing was? I had fun!!! 🙂

Storms over the area and sure hope we get rain. Think I’ll go out and water. 🙂  That will improve our chances.

Okay, back to writing!!

Waaaaaay Behind!!! But, I WILL Catch Up! :) More Blitz Tour and the Sculpture Gardens

Yesterday for my birthday, a friend took me to Austin to have lunch at the Oasis and then see a sculpture garden. When we returned, I had a Facebook launch party to help promote right afterwards. They’re supposed to be like 15 minutes, but I was on it for 4 hours, and had so much fun, I gave away 14 ebooks–for a variety of different books: Cougar’s Mate, Lady Caroline and the Egotistical Earl, The Highlander, Huntress for Hire and more!

Me in a magic time machine capsule. I was careful NOT to touch any knobs or buttons or such. 🙂

Okay, writing myself out of a corner update.  I figured out what to do. After brainstorming for two days with three beta readers and figuring out one thing, then having to come up with a new idea, because we realized we had a whole other can of worms, I finally got it! So I’m working on the changes now and hope to have this done to send to one last beta reader on Saturday!

Madcap Blitz of Jaguar Hunt Blogs, Great Reviews, and Giveaways Continues!

And this just slipped in yesterday too!
Bitten by Love Review of Silence of the Wolf:

Silence of the Wolf  is Terry Spear’s newest entry in her werewolves series,it fulfills all expectations. A sexy werewolf romance with lots of action to keep you on the edge of your seat and riveted throughout the night. I fell in love with the multi-dimensional characters, especially the yummy-hot alpha hero. Elizabeth Wildwood is wonderful and likable. She’s tough and goes after what she wants with determination.Tom is the definition of hot, sexy and alpha, plus he has a heart of gold. He’s protective of Elizabeth and his pack. And only Terry could write a series where the individuals are always new, the distant connections always just close and far enough away to be exactly right, and the imagination so free to fall so deeply in love.I love the way she links the behavior and pack dynamics of her lupus garou to that of real wolves in the wild.

I loved this book! It’s one of the absolute best shapeshifter romances I’ve read in a long time. Terry Spear’s take on the werewolf world is incredibly unique and interesting.  It’s obvious she does a lot of in-depth research. This is a fast-paced, entertaining read with twists and turns I would’ve never expected. I highly recommend Silence of the Wolf!!http://www.bittenbylovereviews.com/2014/06/silence-of-wolf-by-terry-spear.html?spref=fb

The Reading Cafe

“Terry Spear pulls the reader into well paced storyline of suspense, mystery and action; developing friendships; and the introduction to the next generation of potential JAG agents. Not only must David and Tammy search for an elusive and missing jaguar but they are caught in a web of deceit, revenge and betrayal that finds them the target of someone within the force. The secondary characters are colorful; mask their true intent and drive the premise of the storyline. Terry Spear does a terrific job of combining the major and minor players into a tale where you don’t know who is the guilty party or why.

JAGUAR HUNT is a perfect blend of mystery, suspense and romance. The reader is never lost or trying to find their way back to the story. There is always something happening and always a path back to the leading couple and the storyline premise.”“Sandy

An excerpt from Jaguar Hunt:

“Good night.” David closed his eyes, but he couldn’t stop taking in deep breaths of her jasmine soap and she-cat scent mixed into one delightful fragrance. He couldn’t ignore the beat of her heart – or his – that told him he was way too turned on, and that she was feeling the same way. He couldn’t help feeling the heat of her body and wanting to ratchet it up a few degrees, starting with a kiss.

A kiss. Hell, he’d never gone to bed with a woman when it meant total hands off. But lips…they didn’t count, did they?

And in other news, and yes, there is other news beyond the release of Jaguar Hunt! The painters were still at the house again after 7 pm.

I have been intermittently working on A SEAL Wolf for Sale, and had 6 chapters left to finish reviewing and revising, when!!!

Sometimes there’s a moment in your life when everything comes crashing to a halt–in the storybook world.

Yes, I had to keep stopping because we ran out of paint for the one bedroom, the popcorn stuff for the one part of the ceiling only emptied halfway and then stopped working, they ran out of mud and tape because it turned out to be a bigger job, they needed paint to patch up where the tape peeled off some of the wall…. So yes, lots of ordeals with the painting job that’s been going on since Sunday.

And then the blog tour, thought I only had 2 things to report this morning and then my publicist sent me this WHOLE list of more sites I was at this afternoon, which is great! But it meant I spent a whole ton of time sharing.

And then….one of my beta readers and I were hashing out some situations as I was revising and everything was going along fine. UNTIL….*play scary music here*

Everything as we know it wasn’t considered in this story. Yep, one of the characters was pregnant in a story five stories ago, how can anyone expect me to remember that far back??? And in fact, out of the 4 of us who have been reading this, she was the only one who caught it after the fact.

*sigh*

Soooooo, we went back to the brainstorming board. She had some ideas, I squashed them. She had some more ideas. I went back to one of her earlier ones and began to research it, and YES! It’ll work. I won’t have to rewrite the whole book!!!

And like I learned something, readers can too when the book comes out. 🙂 I love it when that happens. I still need to make a couple of changes earlier on, and, well, it’s just going to be great. Believe me.

Disaster averted.

One little change can change a whole story.

*very big sigh*

Once the painting and SEAL and the blog tour is done, I’m going to need a break! 🙂

Oh, wait, didn’t I say I was going to finish Her Highland Hero???

Have a super great Thursday!!!

More Reviews for Jaguar Hunt! & Facebook Fan Page

Jaguar Family

B. shares her review of JAGUAR HUNT by Terry Spear, new title from Sourcebooks.

Not just a romance, Jaguar Hunt has quite a few interesting secondary characters, especially the teen shifters, whose antics I really enjoyed. They, too, proved themselves perfectly able to handle themselves when trouble started, outmaneuvering the “grown ups” in the story repeatedly. Ms. Spear adeptly offers several convincing possibilities for our nemeses, thereby keeping the mystery of the betrayal at the heart of all the trouble intact for nearly the entire story. Once revealed, however, these bad guys were absolutely loathsome and irredeemable, and I found the ending to their part of the story especially satisfying.

As is true in the other Heart of the Jaguar stories, the romantic involvement of the two main characters is a given, but what makes these shifters so much fun is that the women easily hold most of the power in the dynamic. Sure, Tammy experiences a lot of inner conflict about her feelings for David from the beginning, and David is certainly pulling out all the stops to win her over, but he respects her, and is content to follow her lead, demonstrating a willingness to remove himself from any sexually precarious situations before he pushes Tammy’s boundaries. It’s a nice change from some others I’ve read, and still manages to keep the building romance sexy and fun.

While all of the novels in the Heart of the Jaguar series have followed a similar pattern thus far, they’re still extremely entertaining. Tammy is an enjoyably quick-witted and resourceful character, proving herself invaluable to the resolution of the case, as well as being key to the comedic elements of the story as well. David, already a favorite of mine from the previous story in the series, Jaguar Fever, is both a gentleman and a soldier, occasionally veering into “endearing goofball” territory, but always emerging from the ordeal even more likable than before. These stories really are fun to read, and I’m very excited that there are more still to come. http://twimom227.com/2014/06/review-jaguar-hunt-by-terry-spear.html

Having my ceilings repainted where I had water damage and they took the popcorn off the ceilings, and now I’m choking on the dust. I finally had to put on the mask I used for spray painting the wrought iron outside. It’s just not good for your lungs.

And I’m still working on revising A SEAL Wolf for Sale. Finally got to chapter 11, and have 18 chapters, so a ways to go. Hard to concentrate with the painters here every day. But they’re doing a great job and it will look so nice when they are done.

I’ve talked to my publicist about having a Facebook Party, never had one, but have gone to another that an author held and then shared an excerpt, bio, etc and a couple of giveaways on hers. Have another I’m doing for an author on Friday. So I wanted to do one. But my Facebook Fan page doesn’t have a lot of likes. That’s probably because I never go there. So I’m working on that. 🙂

So, if you’ve got time, you can drop by and like away at my Paranormal Romantics Fan Page. I guess I need to list it elsewhere for folks to know it exists.  https://www.facebook.com/TerrySpearParanormalRomantics

I’m off to work on SEAL, have a roaring headache from the dust, but will work through it as I need to finish this!

Jaguar Hunt

Reviewed by Annetta Sweetko

JAGUAR HUNT drops you in the middle of the action and all you can do is hold on tight. Author Terry Spear brings to life her Jaguar world with a lot of humor, plenty of sizzling sex and of course the spectacular touches of good guy versus bad guy action. I really loved David and Tammy as agents and as a couple, they fit perfectly and once she stopped trying to dump him, they worked well together. He accepts that she is an agent and knows how to handle herself, even if his instinct tells him to protect the little woman, he is smart enough not to. Tammy finds herself opening up to him about a worry she has concerning her family and knows it will go no farther. The twins added a lot of humor to this book and I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times, but when it is necessary those boys and another set of twins that come into play dive into the action without fear. Great book, fun read and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Spear comes up with for the next one.

Happy Wolf Day!

Happy Wolf Day

Woohoo, I am in werewolf heaven:

Nobody does werewolf romances like Terry Spear. The romance sizzles, the plot boils, the mystery intrigues, and the characters shine.

I think this was my first introduction to Silver Town. I’ve read about some of the Silver’s in prior novels, but this was my first introduction to the Silver family and I will most definitely be searching out previous books pertaining to them. So trust me, even though this is book 13 in the Heart of the Wolf series Silence of the Wolf is most definitely a standalone novel.

Elizabeth and Tom had so much chemistry it was practically bounding off the pages. There was an easiness about their relationship that made their attraction to each other believable. And while Elizabeth may have tried to play the part of a beta, she was pure alpha which made it all the more interesting when Tom ordered her to do something.

While the romance is divine, what continuously pulls me into Spear’s romances is that mystery and adventure that will have you at the edge of your seat.

Fans of Terry Spear’s will be quick to spot cameos of past characters.

Simply brilliant. Silence of the Wolf is romantic suspense combined with paranormal goodness mixed in with a whole lot of fun. And did I happen to mention the sexy werewolves that abound with in the pages?

Okay, back to my scheduled writing. One thing I will say, when I get a review like this, I’m sooooo much more motivated to write. So thanks to everyone who shares with me how much they enjoy my books!

It does make a difference!

So I’m at 45,000 on A SEAL Wolf for Sale, working on that 50K for the week.

I’ve also been pulling grass. Why is it that grass always grows where you don’t want it to?

Do you have that problem too?

Are You Ready to Listen to a Book?

Do you listen to audiobooks?

When I drove to work, I listened to them on the way there and back home, on trips, painted a whole room listening to one and was ready to paint the whole house, love to hear a book when I’m unable to read one or do anything else.

I just finished proofing and then approving The Shadow Elf (YA), half way done with proofing In the Dead of the Night, and have finished Forbidden Love and Demon Trouble Too (YA), both in review right now.  The Winged Fae, The Highlander, Huntress for Hire, and The Trouble with Demons are in process.

So I’m off to proof the rest of In the Dead of the Night, and once the narrator makes the necessary corrections, I can approve it, send a check to pay her, and then it’ll go into review. Once it’s done with the review, it’s available for the listening public. So much fun!

The great news is I have some review copies!!!
