On the Isle of Skye, love seeing thistle growing wild, and the black-sheep roaming all over near Neist Point Lighthouse. And an ancient bridge, heather, and fog.  I always think of Scotland that way–and the Highland cows, and Scottish heather…

Scotland–Darkness and the Light

Cemetery in Scotland, pretty flowers growing on the ancient stone. And the dark, dark castle. You can imagine without torches, it would be very dark, the only light coming from the window above. 🙂

Baby is here and between a cold and getting two more teeth in, she’s a handle, poor thing. So just getting my blog done during a 15 minute nap.

Loving Scotland

Love Scotland. This is an ancient building in Scotland, a rainbow, and on the Isle of Skye, a momma and her calf trailing behind at sunset. And of course the best part, a couple of Highlanders to love.

Next up! My Highlander!

The house was hot, but it’s cool out this morning, so windows are open, fans going, cooling off the stuffy house, nature’s way!

I worked on My Highlander last night, 500 words, yay!

But I had to write up the synopsis for Billionaire Wolf Christmas because I’ll soon be asked for marketing materials. It doesn’t take me long to forget the details of a book because I’ll be wrapped up in a new one, and I’ll always be doing edits on another. So that was my priority last night. Still have to do more–this is the fun part–giving some details for the cover! Taking a 107,000 book and turning it into a 50, 250, and 2,000-word synopsis is not easy!!! But they need it for marketing, so it has to be done.

Distractions, Distractions

I’ve been trying to ignore everything going on outside the windows while I finished up All’s Fair in Love and Wolf–two red-bellied woodpeckers, cardinals, house finches, blue jays, bluebirds and house wrens coming to eat. Butterflies from monarchs to fritillaries and yellow butterflies dancing in the breeze, laying eggs, and enjoying the flowers. The little Carolina Anole, and the monarch caterpillar–the very hungry caterpillar.

But I still have to take the puppies out, and sooooooo, there I am, looking for all these delightful, beautiful creatures. I found the very hungry caterpillar, but also noticed the jammy mouth flowers and the others, can’t think of their name, so took some pictures of them too.

The great news? All’s Fair in Love and Wolf is done and off to my editor. Today I have to finish Billionaire Wolf Christmas. I’m running out of time.

No time, no time, no time…

No time, no time, no time, no time….

I worked until 1 am this morning on All’s Fair in Love and Wolf edits. I’m on my last chapter and epilogue, but had to finally call it quits, get some sleep and start over again this morning. I need to finish Billionaire so I can send it to my beta readers…, so I’m hoping I can finish that one today. Too.

I have a reader tea and book signing coming up. So no time to write while I’m doing all of that.

And that will be my break!!!

This morning it was super foggy out, last night I was cold, but this morning it’s warm again. Weird weather. A bluebird was perched on the fence, again, in the dark, so before I let the puppies out, I was trying to get a shot of him. Handheld camera shots in the dark, probably is all blurry. Fed the puppies, the birds, killed milkweed bugs, and washed aphids off the milkweed, and now it’s time to do my blogs and get to work.

Oh, about the pictures. So, there’s a yellow butterfly I’ve been trying to capture in some shots, and wouldn’t you know I WAY overexposed them. Ugh. I saw a fritillary butterfly and was trying to capture it, then the monarchs came for their pictures, but wouldn’t hold still. I went looking for my lone little monarch caterpillar, and couldn’t find him, but a bumblebee was on the flowers next to me, so I tried to take a few shots. My computer has been giving me grief, so I was having trouble with doing anything last night. I’m sure there are better pictures of the bumblebee. Photoshop kept crashing, everything kept hanging up. When I turned to look for the caterpillar again–I only see it once in a blue moon–there’s the monarch!!! She’s sitting so prettily on a bunch of milkweed flowers so close to me, I could reach out and touch her! 🙂

I’m almost to the end of All’s Fair and then I can turn that back in! 🙂 <3

Have to do one other blog, and then I’m off to finish All’s Fair….
