My daughter and I had seen these trees/shrubs at different places, and we both love purple flowers. It’s supposed to be drought-resistant when established. It’s known as a “pollinator queen,” attracting hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. We bought them as shrubs because we couldn’t fit the ones trained as trees into her car. lol So we’re training ours into trees.
To begin with, it was just the little white blossoms until the flowers bloomed. I was afraid we’d gotten the wrong variety.
I’m hoping it continues to thrive through this summer and beyond!
Finished writing Bear in Pursuit and today I need to start reading it from beginning to end.
Hope you have a purplish fun day!

A rose surrounded by purple flowers is a rose in a happy place.
Purple flowers are happy flowers.
Can you tell that I love purple flowers? They add a bit of love to a garden of flowers.
We had a thunderstorm come in last night and it really cooled down the area! Yay! My house was 80 degrees so I opened the windows and had that nice cool breeze coming in. It’s been so hot and muggy first thing in the mornings that makes it feel like the middle of summer. So this morning, it’s cool and beautiful, and my granddaughter and I will walk, feed the turtles, and do a million other things. We’re going to do some workbooks, plant the rest of the daylilies, I managed to get the rest of the flower seeds planted, make lunch together–she loves helping in all things–and whatever else we can come up with. Maybe even weed. Though I need to check our storm situation out too. Hmm, chance of storms increase by ten, so we’ll have to go out first thing.
On the book front–I’ve been working on it all week, like every week, every day, moving scenes, editing, cutting, adding, cutting, adding. And I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it feels there isn’t one, but I went over a couple of scenes last night and they’re great. I need to finish another scene, and then I need to figure out the ending. A nice conflictive, 360 degree turn from the beginning of the story to the end–and then it’s done! Then I can just read it for editing pleasure. I can’t wait!
I love it when it comes to that. Because I can’t wait to finish up some other stories I’ve started. Like about 5 of them! Though I have a lot more that I’ve started than that. But that’s the goal. Write the story, finish the story, share with the world.
Hope you all are having a wonderful day! Mine is just about to get started!
Baby’s on her way, so I’m trying to get this done this morning before she gets here. I was working until late last night on the book. Added 2,000 more, still working toward the end.
This was the 1st day challenge for Click, Love, Grow: Pick your favorite color and make a collage of it. I LOVE purple, don’t have much in the line of purple in the house, but I love to see purple flowers in the garden, make purple bears, light, dark, and a mixture, and dress baby in it when I can. The purple mountains are on my favorite mug that I brought home from Scotland–feature the black faced sheep, and the Scottish thistle tea cup my mother gave me years ago. The little purple cup was from my son and daughter’s great-great grandmother. When I picked it out of the inheritance their grandmother had received, my MIL said she’d checked and it didn’t have any value.
She’s wrong. It’s the prettiest purple tea cup I’ve ever loved to own.
And Dreaming of the Wolf was my only purple cover. Love it. I had wanted to have a field of purple wildflowers in Colorado, since Jake Silver was a photographer and captured them in his photos. But my publisher said the real photographer wanted too much, so they turned the whole cover purple. Love it!
Okay, off to take care of baby! Have a beautifully purple day!
Purple and yellow fall flowers in St. Croix. I love fall when the flowers are still blooming and the fall colors are riotous. Maybe not so much here, but in other places!
And baby yesterday. Watch out for those two sharp little baby teeth, her first ones. Whenever she starts pulling my fingers toward her mouth in her strong little fists, I feel like she’s a vampire. 🙂 <3 I laugh and pull my fingers away! Others have not been so lucky!
Have a beautiful day!!

While working with Vexing the Highlander, I needed some Scottish inspiration. I could be inspired to write all day long there! The picture of the view is from Glengarry Castle, the new one. The bottom one is of the ruins.
Instead, I’m at home getting totally distracted by a swarm of woodpeckers! And that’s why I have been seeing a red-bellied woodpecker feeding CONSTANTLY at the feeders. There are 3 of them!
Momma and 2 juveniles, I think. Maybe daddy? Not sure. And then a redheaded woodpecker showed up! And so, besides working on Vexing’s cover until midnight, and the story until 1 am, I am late on everything else. The woodpeckers made me it.
The juvenile red-bellied woodpeckers at the bottom were playing around the tree.
And there you have it! Nope, the dog didn’t eat my homework. The woodpeckers did!
Have a super wonderful day!!! I’m off to write!
