Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / The Book Depository / BAM

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 6, 2015

C.J. Silver is eager to help the new she-wolves in town renovate the old hotel in time for the holidays, especially if it means spending time under the mistletoe with the alluring Laurel MacTire.

The bustle in the long abandoned hotel attracts the attention of human ghosthunters out to prove the place haunted, but the bigger problem is keeping them from discovering the werewolves in Silver Town. CJ and Laurel have to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Working together is a surprisingly hot holiday treat for two attractive and clever wolf shifters.

This is what I LOVE about writing books!!! When they are finally available for sale. lol

I hope you feel the same way!

I write these new releases a year earlier. I’m working on Jaguar Christmas now for next October, so when I get questions about the new release, I think, wait, hasn’t it been out for a while? I’ve since written 3 full length novels, 1/2 of another and a novella.

And even while I’m working on my current book, I’m thinking of another couple of books that are vying for my attention.

Or bears.

Just have to take a picture of another finished bear when it gets light out, and I’m off to write on Jaguar Christmas!

Have a great day!!!

SEAL Wolf Hunting is OUT!!!

After months of writing, more weeks of editing, and more revising, and proofing, and in the meantime writing 4 more books–Silver Wolf Christmas (Oct 2015), She-Wolf Leader of the Pack (Feb 2016), SEAL Wolf Diving for Trouble (Summer 2016), Phantom Fae (Apr 2015), and 55,000 words into Billionaire in Wolf’s Clothing (25,000 words to go, woohoo!), while promoting the new release of Jaguar Pride (Feb 2015) it seems like eons ago that I wrote SEAL Wolf Hunting. An eternity.

Phantom Fae

Don’t have covers for SEAL Wolf Diving for Trouble, or She-Wolf, or Billionaire yet. 🙂

And here you all thought I was goofing off!!!! With trips, and book signings, and playing with puppies and taking pictures, and visiting zoos and wolf parks and well, just plain old goofing off.

But you see writing is REALLY my day job and unlike Rick Castle on CASTLE, who writes one book a year, I get a little more done in a year. I have to. I have 3 wolf books and a jaguar book coming out next year. And more, when I can find the time. See if you can match that, Rick Castle.  Oh, sure, he’s running around flirting with Detective Kate Becket and helping her to solve murder cases, but that’s the same as taking trips to zoos, playing with puppies, and taking pictures–time-wise, right?

And yet he’s a multi-millionaire crime thriller novelist. Hmm, maybe I should switch genres. Oh, I know it’s because the women flock to him and books aren’t the only thing that he’s signing. *sigh*

So I have to make do with what I have and…write more.

Book 16

Book 16

I have to thank my fans for loving my books though. You are my inspiration! Every time I write a scene, I wonder–will you love it as much as I do? I’ve been writing some fun scenes in Billionaire in Wolf’s Clothing, and those scenes make the book memorable to me. But every book has them.

Even after writing so many other books, nearly 5 since I wrote SEAL Wolf Hunting, I still can vividly see some of my favorite scenes–Paul Cunningham, retired Navy SEAL wolf who now does undercover freelance work has come home with his SEAL team body, Allan Rappaport, after a grueling mission. They lost one of the college students they were supposed to rescue.

Paul suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But I don’t belabor it. It’s just to show how something like that can make someone react to situations that others will take no note of. When Lori Greypaw realizes Paul might be reacting to situations because of PTSD, she reaches out to him, to help him deal with it. HE doesn’t believe he is having any trouble at all. But when he breaks into Allan’s mother’s home, both men covered in face paint and armed and ready to take down hostage takers, it’s funny and fun, but there’s this undercurrent of hint of trouble that Paul is dealing with, unbeknownst to anyone.

Anyone can suffer from PTSD.

So I’ve touched on it in the story, in fun ways that show that life isn’t always what’s right in front of you, but sometimes there are hidden fears that make you react to certain situations that might confound others.

Okay off to start the busy day ahead with prizes and such at my site.

I also will be giving away 5 copies of the audiobook through Audible–to lucky commenters on this blog. They are good for US and UK winners. I’m not sure if the codes will work elsewhere. But if you love shapeshifters, romance, the paranormal, wolves, mystery, suspense, action and humor, and enjoy audible books, just tell me why you’d love to listen to this story, and I’ll throw you in the pot for a free copy!

Have a super great day! Mine is on top of the moon because it’s RELEASE DAY!!!

Print proof is ready for me to review, but trying to get somewhere on His Wild Highland Lass.
Now that Her Highland Hero is on Amazon, I’ve uploaded it for a narrator for the audiobook format!

It’s been so hot, I’ve had to go out and water and while I did so, I scared a baby bunny from her hiding place behind a shrub. And of course, what did I have to do? Run and get my camera.

baby bunny (640x506)

Not only that, but I saw a dragonfly on the top of my pyracantha. The bad news is that it means there are voracious bugs eating my plants. And you can see that from the way they are stripped naked on top. But that is a nice place for my sentinel bird to perch, so some good comes of it. The other good news is the dragonfly will help to take care of the bugs.

I wasn’t sure, as far away as the dragonfly was, nor how high up it was, that I could even get a shot of him. It was hard to see what I was doing. Same with the bunny too. Mostly, I was just seeing light. And we had strong winds and the dragonfly was fluttering his wings rapidly trying to hang on to the branch, but I still managed to get a shot, winds and all.

When I went out the second time to move the water, I discovered two dragonflies feeding! So naturally, I had to dash back in the house, grab the camera, and try to catch them both.

Who would ever thought on such a hot and miserable day, I could find such wonders?

Back to the air conditioned cool and the hot Highlanders. 🙂

In the meantime, well, after I spent all yesterday finishing edits, adding a cover quote, and then last night and this morning working on publishing it, I WAS working on His Wild Highland Lass, the novella. I have nearly 15000 words done on it, was shooting for 20,000, but it will probably be closer to 23-25. Or longer. We’ve decided to go up to 30K if the stories require a longer story to be told. Isn’t that the way?

So I just wanted to pop in to say the book is done, publishing, oh, and for my print readers, it’s also done, and currently in review, so it should be done in a week or so. It takes longer for the print process to finish.

Now that it’s on Amazon, I can start working to find a narrator for the audiobook format!

Hope you are all having a lovely Monday!

It’s going to be a grueling 97 again today. We rarely get these high temps so early, so not looking forward to a really hot summer. Which means I will be working hard to keep these shrubs alive for the season. Only one from last year made it. Then I found a more drought resistant variety and planted that. But it will still need water to make it through its first season. Particularly with these hot, beastly days.

Off to get back to work. If I am not working on the current work-in-progress, I feel as though I haven’t been working. 🙂

Have a lovely day.

Did you get your blue light today? That’s the early morning light that you’re supposed to soak up so you feel great!

Cougar’s Mate is Available!

Cougar’s Mate: Instinct told her to run…

Shannon Rafferty learns that hanging out with the bad boys could be a dangerous business, but hooking up with a cop is even worse. Now she’s on the run, trying to avoid being murdered by his cougar shifter brothers and uncle. If that isn’t bad enough, a deputy sheriff hunts her down while she’s running as a cougar and trying to survive in the Colorado wilderness. He vows to protect her no matter what she’s done. With three dead boyfriends to her name, she’s sure she will be the death of Chase Buchanan before either of them can prevent it. No matter how much she knows she has to run again, he soon holds her heart hostage. But will that be enough to keep them both alive?

Chase Buchanan—as wilderness cabin resort owner, former US Army Special Forces, and part time deputy of the small town of Yuma, Colorado that boasts a love of cougars—is tasked to track down a cougar reported to be hunting human prey. Chase soon learns she’s a shifter, not a full-time cougar, and she’s on the run. When he takes her in, he vows to protect her. After losing his wife and baby to the human kind of predator years earlier, he’s not letting Shannon’s hunters kill her, too. But how is he going to hold onto the wild-cat woman, who is unpredictable at every turn, without losing his heart to her, and then losing her as well?

This is one of the joys of writing!!! Sharing the story with the world! One of the problems I had with figuring a title is that I wanted to use the “Cougar” in the title, rather than Mountain Lion, too long, Catamount, that some wouldn’t know what it was, Puma, too soft. Cougar is perfect–hard, short, recognizable. ONLY the problem is that cougar now also means an older woman who dates younger men. 🙂 Which is fine, BUT, that’s not my storyline. These are cougar shifters, so I wanted to make that clear. On searches, if I put in Cougar Love, it could sound like an older woman scenario, rather than a shifter. 🙂 I bet you didn’t know that there was that much thinking that even went into a title, did you?

So I chose Cougar’s Mate, because most don’t think of their significant other as mate. And the next, Call of the Cougar, because it reminds me of Call of the Wild, and because you don’t think of a call from an older woman to a younger man,  hopefully, but the wild call of a cougar. You see, there truly is method to my madness. Bonnie gave me the idea for another title: Crouching Cougar. I love it!

So I’m off to let the world know–I have cougar shifters on board.

And here is a parting picture of a nifty bird nest. It looks big enough for an eagle! I’m keeping my on it to see what really nests there. 🙂

Ready for a Cougar Shifter Story?

I’ve been working on a cougar shifter story for a while after fans asked me about it. I LOVE my wolf packs. And I LOVE my jaguar shifters–they’re exotic animals, which makes them fun to write. But cougars are all over North America, and so I really wanted to write about them TOO.

And so, coming this year, the first in the series: Cougar’s Mate. The series name will be: Heart of the Cougar

I also have a book I’m revising that I hope to have out this year also:

I love historical books. I read them all the time. But my favorite is medieval and there aren’t as many of them. I love, love, love Highlanders. But I had already written a number of English historical romances and so I’m in the process of revising this one to show my other favorite genre to write about: wolf shifters. 🙂
In my wolf shifter books, they have a historical past. They live long lives. So I often have a historical background in my contemporary books. But I thought it would be fun to actually write about that historical wolf and how they coped.
This will be the first of the series. I need to come up with a series name though! 🙂  Any ideas?
I’m also working on those sexy Highland heroes, well, in this case it’s Gunnolf and he’s a Viking, but he’s got to have a Highland lass!
And I’m currently proofing A Hero of a Highland Wolf.
And Silence of the Wolf is coming out March 4, so writing up all the blogs for the blog tour for that!
And having Jaguar Pride beta read before I turn it in.
Oh, and on Cougar’s Mate, looking for second book title, maybe Call of the Cougar?
Have a lovely Saturday!

My thoughts on A SEAL Wolf Christmas

What I love most about Terry Spear’s book is that you don’t feel lost if you read the series books out of order. I also loved seeing all the cameos of characters in previous Heart of the Wolf books. And, of course I loved the HEA and was surprised that a second HEA was found in the supporting characters.

This book is a rollercoaster ride of mystery, intrigue, and wolfy love set to the backdrop of an Oregon winter. There is so much action going on and so many different plot twists. Many interwoven mysteries blended with well-developed characters and super sexy wolves. Terry Spear is a masterful storyteller. I loved every page of it!

I received a Net Galley copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions are my own.
Rating: 5 Stars
