I’m off to finish proofing Wolf on the Prowl! Woohoo!!! Can’t wait to finish it and get started on some other book projects. Though….I will probably try to play a little Baldur’s Gate 3 where I got stuck on the game in a couple of tough battles. lol If I have time.

Facebook Headers for Christmas

I’ve been running all over, trying to get things done, but wanted to update my timeline FB art for the holidays. The weirdest things come to mind when I’m supposed to be sleeping. 🙂

Well, I’m at 102,000 words and counting on Wolf on the Prowl. I think I’m nearly done with it. Just need to finish one last scene and begin the editing all the way through.

I’m also watching a crazy movie called Downsizing with Matt Damon. So far, it’s really good. Okay, back to editing and then writing the final scene. It turned out cold today and I’m loving it!

And I think they fixed the leaks in my roof until they replace it. Yay! Since we’re having more rain this weekend and next week when they’re supposed to be roofing, but it might be delayed.

Turkey day is almost here!

Wolves and the Elf

So you know how I was trying to get to 80K on Wolf on the Prowl? It’s now at 101K and I’m still trying to finish it. My editor won’t like it that long. So I’m going to have to finish it and then start cutting anything that is unnecessary.

We’re supposed to have rain today. The roofer said he’d have someone patch up things until they replace the roof. I sure hope so because we’ve got more rain coming.

A Cardinal Happily Eating on Christmas Eve

I was trying to get the dogs to all sit together for a photo. Here are my attempts, lol.

Okay, so my dogs will sit still on their cot since I used it for training since they were puppies and I finally resorted to that but I couldn’t get the corgis to sit on either side of them for anything. I had the treats and the corgis wanted to get closer to me. My dogs knew to sit on the cot until I released them.

At least I got them all to look at me, though Luna’s ear is in front of Max’s face. *sigh*. I will try again later!

I’m having Dog Days of Christmas and having a blast. Finished While the Wolf’s Away proofing, turned it in and I’m working on The Emerald Isle of Mist next!

Bird in a Christmas Wreath!

My son arrived safely with his dog after 15 hours of driving. Mishka is on my lap and my dogs are waiting for my son to get up–they’ve all been fed and taken outside, birds fed. I’m about to battle more monsters for writing goals. I think I managed 7,000 words yesterday. I reached 22K on A Date with a Wolf, and added more to Dangerous Liaisons, another vampire romance, at 27,704, and Warrior Elf (YA), 16K, and Bite of the Vampire (YA), 18,600. I added 6K to the novella, but on the other books a few hundred each. That’s what’s fun about the battling monsters. Once I have my word goal plus on the deadline book, I can add more content to other stories not on deadline to get some more word count in.

We are going on a drive to see a special exhibit this afternoon–drive through, more on it later, and having lunch at home and unfortunately shopping for a few items at the grocery store. He’s making a curry rice dish and forgot his curry powder, his grinder for coffee and I figure I’ll pick up some cabbage and carrots to make corned beef and cabbage for everyone one of these days.

I forgot that Miskha is a woofer. Not barking loudly, but I’m finding myself shushing her constantly while my son is still sleeping.

I’m off to write before he gets up and we’re on our way to the store.

A Star Wars Christmas

My daughter created this door for their door contest and didn’t win. I can’t imagine why not! She had my vote!

A Neighbor’s Star Wars Christmas and My Daughter’s Star Wars Cookies

Christmas was great! The breakfast tacos had tortillas and they were great. We had a roast and then fajitas that night, so perfect! Except little one had been running a fever the day before and last night while I watched her and they went out to get groceries, her cheeks turned bright red and she was running a fever again.

Hopefully, she’ll be alright for their Christmas in Waco. And we won’t get it too!

I am still writing on the vampire story. Despite all the wild activities, I managed 1,000 words after they finally left and I have more ideas. As to the Highland story I need to write, nada. If I could write fantasy, I’d jump run in. I also still need to finish Joy to the Wolves and do a special FB party thing for tomorrow. They told me I need to prepost it, so need to figure that out!

Merry Christmas Early!

So we’re celebrating Christmas today. Last night my daughter emailed me and asked if I got the tortillas. You know, for the breakfast tacos. Now, when I picked up the dinner fixings on Thursday, I asked her what else I needed. Nothing.

So no tortillas for breakfast tacos. She said that meant they were deconstructed breakfast tacos. Just remember that. If you don’t have all the ingredients for a meal, they’re….deconstructed. lol

I figured I get up early enough before they all wake up and I’d get my daughter and myself a drink from Starbucks on the way to the grocery store. My son-in-law only drinks Dr. Pepper.

Now, yes, we have a lot of crime in the area, we’re a suburb of Houston after all, BUT we also have a lot of nice folks. When I pulled up to the window to pay for our drinks, the cashier said that the man ahead of me had bought my drinks. Merry Christmas.

You know how that made me feel? Like spreading the cheer. What a sweet thing to do. There are indeed truly nice people in the world.

I told the Hispanic cashier at the grocery store about no tortillas for breakfast tacos as I was buying them and she laughed. I’ve never had them so this is all a mystery to me. I told her about my daughter saying they were deconstructed. If you can make someone smile today, go for it!

My daughter emailed me and said little one is running around like crazy, and my son-in-law is zonked out.

That’s okay. I need to blog, get my camera ready, work on a vampire romance and when they get here, have a truly lovely family Christmas.

The Stare Down

I loved the pose, the expression…

So I finished the print version of Cougar Halloween Mischief and it should be available soon. I have to take little one to the doctor this morning, and we’re going to have all our fun decorating. I bought some Christmas bells for her to jingle. Hope to take pictures of her adding ornaments to the tree. We’re going to make chocolate chip cookies, and take a long walk so I can pay my home owner dues, and just plain have fun.

And one of my dogs has kennel cough. Hopefully he doesn’t give it to my other dog. They both had shots for it, but this has happened before where they are immunized for kennel cough and both got it anyway.

I’m off to get ready before little one comes!

I got back from the Thanksgiving trip and am playing catch up all over the place. Got some really great shots at the zoo so will share for the next few days. Put up my Christmas tree last night, some lights out front just a few minutes ago, but still need to finish decorating. Baby loved the ghost out front for Halloween and would talk to it, so I picked up a “crystal” snowman that she can talk to for out front. They don’t talk back. lol So it’s a one-sided conversation.

Despite all that we did, Thanksgiving, the zoo, and signed books at the Barnes and Noble in Waco, I managed to squish in 9000 words for Woodland Fae.

Okay, I’m off and running. I need to make a list so I can keep track of everything I need to do. I had no food in the house either, so had to do some grocery shopping… And I realized I had published Darkland Elf on Thursday morning before we went to Waco for Thanksgiving, but I didn’t have any time to tell the world!

One of my beta readers sent back corrections for the The Witch and the Jaguar, need the other’s still and then need to format the cover for the is book. So it should be coming out soon.

In the meantime? I’m taking a break and  having lunch. I’ll send this bear to keep an eye on you. What beady little eyes and what a long tongue he has!
