Reflections after the Storm & Rainbow Momma and Baby Bear!

I was getting ready to pick up groceries when I saw the beautiful artwork on my driveway–clouds, the blue sky, the cypress tree and crepe myrtles. I couldn’t paint a scene for anything, but isn’t this scene “painted” pavement beautiful?

And I’m off to get my word count today to reach 60,000 words and catch up on student lessons!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!!! Can you believe Monday is the 1st of Sept? Yes!!! High 90’s all week, but maybe a cooler break is coming at night….soon!

Okay, I’m off to get groceries. My cupboards and fridge are bare! Sometimes I like to eat down all I have so that I can start fresh. Ever do that?

Well, it means I’ve had no taters (potatoes) for 3 days and that’s awful! Must be my Irish blood. LOL

I’m 1,000 words behind on my word count on A Silver Wolf Christmas because of critiquing so many student lessons and finishing up Jaguar Pride copyedits. Sooo, after I run errands, I’ve got to knuckle down. 60,000 is the goal for Sunday. I’m at 50,000. If I reach it, next week is 80,000 and I’m done! At least with the first draft. And that’s the most important thing! I know who done it! 🙂 Then I can edit it to my heart’s content, but at least the story is down on paper/monitor. 🙂

🙂 <3

It’s a super great day! It’s RAINING!!!

Have a lovely TGIF!

Painting between Storms!

Please vote and have a chance to win too, if you haven’t already.

As of last night when I pre-posted this, The Dark Fae was in the lead, which is incredible! Considering where she began. She might not be there by the end of the contest, and I was ready for it to end when I was ahead, but isn’t that always the way???

So if you haven’t had a chance and want to, she’d still love the votes! Because between now and May 31 when it ends, anything could happen. You know how it is, you’re way behind in a game, and all of a sudden you think you’re going to win and somebody else out of the blue does??? If you’re the person out of the blue, that’s a good thing.

I thought I had taken a picture of the wrought iron I had painted too, but apparently not. So here is the before, and the clouds that prevented me from doing much else, then went out again later. I’ll have to take another picture of the wrought iron I did paint for the after picture. But I’m afraid the ALL after will take a long time. I have to do it between violent winds and rainstorms. 🙂 Then it will get too hot and… aren’t I good at making excuses? But I am using about 3 cans a day, so I am getting somewhere with it. I realized I have miniscule black freckles today. So much for the wind going in the right direction.

I love the wrought iron. It makes me feel as though I’m truly within my castle walls. 🙂

There’s something cool about holes in clouds. 🙂

It should be illegal to have electric wires above ground. You know, because of the fact that the best shots are always right where the darn electric wires are.

And that’s my stormy day.

Off to write. For the first time, I was able to get my 3,000 word count yesterday, AND a little ahead. Not much, but writing a little ahead, makes me…a little ahead. 🙂

Have a terrific Thursday!!!

Have a great day!

And thanks again to everyone who voted. It’s amazing to me that I moved up to the top. It doesn’t usually happen. I usually make a little headway and fall right back down. So thank you, thank you to all who voted!

I took these pictures from the yard. There is beauty all around if we just take a moment to look and see.

Back to writing. Determined to get to 20,000 on A SEAL Wolf for Sale today.

Don’t Believe Anything the Weatherman Says…

storms 001 (800x533)

Oh, I know it’s not their fault that the weather doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. We were so looking forward to a week of rain, but it keeps slip-sliding away. Still, some days have a projected higher percentage chance, so maybe…

I won’t hold my breath. Still, this was what was brewing last night. Pretty impressive, eh?

I’d thoroughly forgotten we even had a chance of storms, until I saw these.  I watered on Wednesday, figuring the new plantings still needed water even if it rained on Saturday. Hmm, maybe I should water again? Wash my car? Schedule a picnic? And see what happens then!

Maybe it’s like the watched teakettle. If I quit watching the weather, the rain will come. 🙂

Rain, Rain, Come Again…

storms (800x533)

I love the smell of rain as it “oxygenates” the air. It greens up the poor plants that have been suffering in the heat. It revives them. And it revives me. The storms, the thunder, the lightning… the rain.

I wanted to curl up and write on one of my vampire books, but my taskmaster said no. I had to stick to A Highland Wolf Christmas. But there it’s snowing in the Highlands. I wanted to write about dark and stormy weather and… vampires.

So the rain is gone now…

And I’ve just offered The Highlander, the medieval Highland romance on Kobo for preorders. The book will come out on Oct 21. http://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/ebook/the-highlander-5

Highlander11 (539x800)

So next time it rains, I’m going to pull out that vampire mss and get to work. 🙂

Have a super great Monday!
