Before…After–Shop ‘Til You Drop

We were at IKEA for hours yesterday and baby started out all smiles, she had a ball, but by the end of the day, she crashed. Grandma had her walking, pushing her stroller, walking, and that place is huge and perfect for walking. Wore her out.

But I also got an organizer for making the bears! It really is making a difference. Instead of having them piled up on the couch were I was stuffing, attaching body parts, and sewing them, I have them organized by degree of doneness (author made up word).

Bottom basket had the bears with arms attached, middle unattached legs and ears, top, sewing and attachment tools. Before, I had them all in plastic buckets on the couch and I kept searching and searching for body parts. (Sounds like a murder thriller, doesn’t it?)

And I found butterscotch bear’s arm! lol But alas, one panda bear’s leg hadn’t been cut out, so I did that and was sewing heads on the machine and more legs this morning, and still need to cut out 4 more white bear heads. Puppies wanted out and I thought I’d better get this done before I forgot.

I’ll probably write some this morning. Still need to figure out how to start my next Silver Town wolf book.

Hope you have a lovely day!!!

I Didn’t Do Anything Yesterday!

At least that’s the way I feel. I did get baby down for a 2 1/2 hour nap, and then a 1 1/2 hour nap, worked all day on Cougar Magic cover, when I could. It’s book 6 in the series.

I cut out the rest of 15 bears this morning. the ten I’d finished cutting out yesterday. And I did set up the folder for the new silver book, the new cougar book, the new Woodland Fae book and wrote 1500 words, and made the changes to Claiming the White Bear. So how can I see that as having done nothing?

Everything I’m working on is far from being done, that’s why! It’s all the beginning. I sewed on several of the bears, still need to sew up bear heads, and sew in the soles on some of the bear legs. But guess what?  I’m missing bear ears for Bubblegum Bear. Huh!

And somehow I’m missing a panda bear leg. (I cut out 4 of those bears and they have lots of extra pieces, eye patches and their body has 4 parts instead of 2) I’m hoping I find Bubblegum’s ears in the bottom of the box of bears-to-sew, and that the panda bear leg slipped in there also. But wait, I’m missing more! I had thought I’d cut out 4 heads for the panda bears and 2 for angel bears, all in white. I have all the gussets, the center piece on the top of the head that goes to the nose. Huh!

No big deal, really. But it means dragging out all the stuff again to cut out what I missed. Yet, it is ONLY the beginning. I have to turn bear parts inside out, sew ear ends together, attach legs and arms to bodies, stuff arms and legs, sew the ends up. Then come the heads. Trim face, eyes next. Do you hear that? Eyes first! Yes, when I’ve been doing a lot of bears and watching  a riveting TV show, I have been known to attach a head BEFORE I put in the eyes. I’ve been making them for many years, and I think I’ve done it 3 times. lol

So EYES first. Then attach the head, stuff the head, close the head, attach the ears and sew the nose. For the pandas, another step. I have to sew on the eye patches, but I have to insert eyes through the eye patches too. Trying to remind myself. I haven’t made them for a few years. lol

And then dresses for the angel bears, sash and bonnet for the clan bear, steampunk jackets, dresses and hats, and paws on the panda and Celtic bear need to be embroidered.

And I’m a long way from finishing any books because I’ve just started them. And that’s okay. I have to remind myself this all the time. In the beginning, it’s just the beginning. If I keep working at it, everything will get done.

Off to search for Bubblegum’s ears. I just have to have cut them out. lol And panda’s leg too. The heads? I probably goofed on it.

Have a great day where nothing has gone missing!!

Trying to Get Baby to Sleep

I think sometimes it’s easier writing a whole novel.

Pictured: slug, toadstool–one of my readers said that her dad used to say that some are made for a fairy’s bed, and some for an umbrella. This one was definitely a fairy’s bed. And this is the tallest coneflower I have.

Okay, was cutting out bears, but still trying to put baby down for a nap. We took a walk in the heat, fed her, now she has a bottle, and….well, we’re still working on the closing eyes and falling asleep part. lol At least I have two white bears cut out, working on angel bears, one is sold, four pandas cut out, two are sold, two light purple, one sold. And working on cutting out five butterscotch bears, one for a steampunk that is sold.

Baby’s asleep! I knew I could do it!

Anyway, and I was working on the story idea for Stryker’s cougar story, need a shorter title than what I have, another story that will be a Highland medieval wolf shifter, Claiming the White Bear. I do that sometimes, work on different stories until I get an idea for the next book.

All right, I’m pinned to my desk, so need to figure out what to do until baby wakes up.

Have a great day!!!

Random Cats

Some of the cat pictures my fans have sent me–beautiful cats. And some I’ve taken of neighboring cats, or like the black and white at a writer’s retreat and the orange and white at Old Town Spring, just lazing around.

I worked on Claiming the White Bear, up to 15,000, I think, now. I have to type my notes to see. I started it last Christmas at my son’s house, but then had to stop to work on deadline books once they were contracted. Well, I started on them before that, actually, because I wouldn’t have had the time to write them otherwise. I’d like to just write and write and write, but you know, the words have to make sense. I often hear: wow, that’s a lot of words. Heart of the Wolf was actually 123,000 words, and then the novella was 25,000, and that’s a lot of words for the new release anniversary book. But they have to tell a story.

Anyway, so I was also working on SEAL Wolf Surrender with one of my beta readers. What happened to so and so? What happened to another so and so? Did he know that the hero was the same person he’d tried to murder before? Where was the purse with the listening bug? Yes! I love my beta readers! They catch things that I didn’t!!!

So hopefully all loose ends tied up, I sent it to my other beta reader who will find any other problems, and then it’s off to my publisher.

In the meantime, I’m NOT sitting idly by. I’m sill waiting for the clan fabric to make the Celtic Clan bear, the black and white fur to make the two pandas, and I want to get started on the last wolf book in the contract, due Oct 1st. And I want to get started on the fae book for this year, the Highland book, and Stryker’s story, next in the cougar series. If I wrote them all as novellas, they’d be done. lol But my readers want longer, so I’m working on novels for all of them. I also have a ton of older stories I continually revise when I have a break, or get stuck on the new stuff. Sometimes, they are more work than writing a new book. BUT, sometimes, after major revisions, they are my best sellers.

Okay, off to write!!! Our heat index is already 88 degrees. Ugh. Oh, and my daughter is the Cheshire Cat.

Have a great one!!!

Gardening–the Good and the Bad…

Top left corner is Virginia Creeper and though it can be very pretty, they say not to plant it next to fences, houses, and ornamental trees! It’s very aggressive. I already have problems with wild blackberries, grape, and not sure what the other really thorny vine is that I have to keep cutting out. So out comes the Virginia Creeper. Next is a good plant. I wasn’t sure, but it’s watermelon! And yes, I planted the seeds. Just all over. So forgot. lol

The next could be the world’s biggest weed. I have no idea. I’ve never seen it before. Someone said it could be wild violet, but it has no flowers. And the last by the stones is a lovely crepe myrtle that came out of nowhere. I love crepe myrtles! I have no idea what color of flower it will be, so it will be a fun surprise.

I’m off to ship bears this morning. Finished the next St. Patrick Bear and got the first Santa Bear ready to ship.

I’m still working on edits to SEAL and working on Claiming the White Bear while waiting on beta reads.

Several more bears to make! Have a fun day!!!

I’ve got to get back to work!

Fun in the Garden

Coreopsis, marigolds, giant zinnias, and gerbera daisy

We were supposed to have a beautiful storm, lots of rain, didn’t happen. BUT, it did cool down a bit last night and I was able to pull more grass. I had to water though. First thing at 5 am, it was beastly hot again.

I did finish edits on You Had Me at Shifter! I’ll be re-reading one scene over again this morning, turn it in, and then working on some more edits on SEAL Wolf Surrender. I also worked on Claiming the White Bear last night. I think that gives me 13,000 words. 57,000 more to go!!! So I need to type up my notes on that.

And today, I hope to get the St. Patrick’s Bear done and Santa ready to ship tomorrow.

Oh, and yeah, take pictures…just….because.

Have a lovely Sunday!!!

Making the Most of an Unscheduled Day Off!

I hear people say all the time, their kids started school, or they had extra time off and planned to really get so much more done. But then they filled their days with other stuff, and didn’t write, or whatever else they had really wanted to use the time for.

I had 3 books I’m juggling to finish. Turned A Billionaire Wolf for Christmas in. With a trip coming up, 2 more deadlines, and with a free day off (baby and momma stayed home to be sick), I worked and worked and worked on Friday on the jaguar edits. I’m over halfway done on edits for Jaguar, and thrilled!!! Now the title is: You Had Me at Shifter.

*sigh*

Purple Magic Crepe Myrtle, St. Patrick’s Day bear and 2 Santa Bears Sold!

And my editor changed my hero’s last name to Anderson to make it more hero like. ONLY one problem with that. The jaguar couple who join them is also named Anderson. And the human homicide detective that gets into the act is named Sanderson. And since my editor changed Howard’s name already, I was scrambling to remove the new Anderson to Armstrong, the name I had suggested, without screwing up all the other names. Which I made the mistake of doing. Yep. Find and Replace turned the other jaguar shifters’ Anderson name, when I didn’t want that. I didn’t realize he and his mate were in the book until I read through further. (I’ve worked on 3 books since I wrote this one), AND Sanderson became SArmstrong. I have trouble with names anyway. PLEASE don’t create more problems for me! lol

Anyway, I’m over halfway through and I’m ecstatic! Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish it up today or tomorrow, and jump on SEAL again. Once I finish these, I need to write another wolf book on deadline, but I can take a day break to just get other stuff done. Or…not. I have 6 bear orders stacking up on me. lol Four of the bears are made, just need to finish up details, embroider paws, etc. Two are waiting on fur–those are the pandas, and one is waiting on tartan fabric from Scotland. One of the Santas needs a bag of toys.

Okay, enough goofing off. It’s time to play with the jaguars and wolves again until they’re finished!!!

Have a super fun weekend!!!

Review for Flight of the White Wolf!

Wonderful review at Fresh Fiction!

Flight of the White Wolf
Terry Spear

Reviewed by Kim Roller

Romance Paranormal

THE FLIGHT OF THE WHITE WOLF by Terry Spear takes Amelia White and Gavin Summerfield on a dangerous and steamy trip through the Border Waters of Minnesota. Coincidence or fate that they’ve come together again and that people from their past are in the areas as well? Is Gavin’s current mission part of all the danger or is he supposed to be protecting Amelia and her family from danger? It all is woven with intrigue and love by Terry Spear in the second book of her White Wolf Series and the twenty-fourth book in her Wolf Shifters Series, which has many sub-series, all loosely connected.

Terry Spears takes you on a dangerous ride that leaves you wondering who’s the bad guys are and why they are after the people in the Border Waters in Minnesota. I was surprised by the outcome and impressed with the ending that brings everything together and wraps up nicely. I look forward to the next installments in the White Wolf and Heart of the Wolf Series. It’s a series that can continue for many books to come!

Purple Magic crepe myrtle is pictured. On the bottom left hand corner is the red snapdragons that are volunteers. Baby is late. Mom called, they’re both sick.

I sort of finished SEAL Wolf Surrender. It’s with two beta readers now.

And I still have edits on You Had Me at Jaguar. Without baby here, I’m off to work on Jaguar!!!

Have a super terrific Friday!!!

Billionaire Proofing is Done!

Dragonfly watching the fairy in the cowboy boot, Tanner wanting to get into baby’s wading pool when she was gone, a tangerine zinnia, and a beautiful, magical sunrise.

A Billionaire Wolf for Christmas final proofing is done! I’m turning it in momentarily so I can get back to work on finishing SEAL. Nearly there. Jaguar edits will be coming any day.

Off to work!!! Have a magical day!
